About the Revolution Room book:

From 2013 to 2016, Revolution Room explored participatory art practice in Johannesburg (South Africa), Lubumbashi, Moba and Fungurume (Democratic Republic of Congo). The project sought to explore the ways in which artists and residents create and assume collective responsibility for creative projects that mediate and reflect the concerns of people, history and place. This publication considers the processes and challenges of participatory practice, through the various elements of the project, in the hope of contributing to strategies and thinking on collaborative creative practices.

Revolution Room was jointly developed by VANSA and Waza Art Centre.
