Curator in Photography The Centre for Curating the Archive (CCA) at the University of Cape Town invites applications for a creative, energetic artist/photographer or scholar/curator of photography to work in the creative curation and assembling of photographic collections.

Curator in Photography
The Centre for Curating the Archive (CCA) at the University of Cape Town invites applications for a creative, energetic artist/photographer or scholar/curator of photography to work in the creative curation and assembling of photographic collections.
The Centre, located at the Michaelis School of Fine Art, aims to digitise and conserve collections, as well as add to and exhibit or publish them. The curatorial role is seen less in the sense of a conservator and more in the sense of a curator/artist responsible for innovative exhibitions and publications.
An MFA or equivalent Master’s degree is required and the incumbent will be expected to manage the photo unit at the CCA, work with Fine Art and Humanities students (particularly postgraduates and fellows) and run public workshops.
The candidate should also have excellent management and organisational skills, whilst fundraising experience will be advantageous. Please refer to the CCA website for more information at www.cca.uct.ac.za

The post may be occupied from Assistant Lecturer to Senior Lecturer level, depending on experience and track record.
The annual remuneration packages, including benefits, range from R265 000 – R425 000,
depending on experience.

Fellowship in Photography
The CCA is also inviting applications for 6 or 12-month fellowships to work on a photographic project (worth R135 000 per annum). Fellows should have an MFA or equivalent experience and be located at the CCA for the duration of the fellowship.
