THE VANSA INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME is made possible with the support of Africalia www.africalia.be, and incluses eight other interns located in visual arts organisations across the country. The programme offers access to a wide network in the visual arts sector and provide an excellent opportunity for on-the-job training and development for young people interested in arts management, administration and networking. 
 

Our main Funder is the Western Cape's Department of Economic Development and Tourism. Their funding provides both a percentage of our operating costs and funding for specific projects. In the 2010/11 funding cycle these projects are:

THE VANSAWESTERNCAPE HELPDESK: this is our core activity: the help in terms of information, assistance and advice for artists and the Visual Arts sector. In time we aim to grow our reputation beyond the local community and serve as an advisory body for International Arts organisations and visitors.

We have funding from the Western Cape’s Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport for SPRING SCHOOL, a series of workshops and classes that will take place from January 2011 - March 2011. Included will be Professional Practice for Artists, Artists' Online Tools Course, Curatorial Workshop, INFOCUS: Concept Development Work and INTRODUCING!!! a series of interdisciplinary non-conventional, interdisciplinary conversations amongst/for artist.

TheCity of Cape Town has sponsored the 3rd Mentorship Programme, a 12-week course for artists who have not had formal art school training. Participants will be in the studio 4 days a week with mentor Vuyile Voyiya. And our 2nd SPRING SCHOOL, a fantastic line-up of workshops and classes to enhance and strengthen your career in the visual arts.
