The Phatshoane Henney New Breed Art Competition

The Phatshoane Henney New Breed Art Competition invites new and emerging Free State-based artists to enter and take the first step towards being discovered as a new breed of artist. Competition entries for the 2017 New Breed Art Competition opens on 4 September 2017 and closes on 10 September 2017.

Following the successful launch of the competition in 2016, Phatshoane Henney Attorneys, in association with Oliewenhuis Art Museum, invites new and emerging Free State artists to enter the 2017 Phatshoane Henney New Breed Art Competition and take the first step towards being discovered as a new breed of artist. The competition and competition prizes provide an excellent platform for Free State artists to showcase their talent and contemporary Free State art, and to benefit from the exposure the competition provides. The competition is open to all South African artists that reside in or are primarily resident in the Free State, are 18 years or older and have not held a solo exhibition at a commercial gallery involving more than 20 works.

WINNERS GROUP EXHIBITION

An exciting new feature of the competition is the addition of a Winners Group Exhibition to be held mid-2018. All competition winners, including Merit Award winners, will automatically qualify for the Winners Group Exhibition to be held at Gallery on Leviseur and which will allow all competition winners to showcase a broader body of their work.
