Rhodes University Department of Fine Art is seeking to fill two senior Art History and Visual Culture posts early in 2013. The posts are at the level of Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer and offer an opportunity to be part of a dynamic department and contribute to the contemporary curriculum and a collective departmental research profile.

Requirements

Associate Professor

PhD in Art History and Visual Culture or cognate discipline. A strong track record of successful teaching, supervision and administration at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Significant research experience and a sustained research trajectory. A desire to contribute to a collective departmental research profile.

Senior Lecturer

PhD in Art History and Visual Culture or cognate discipline (candidates completing a PhD may be considered). An ability to undertake teaching, supervision and administration at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Substantial research experience. A desire to contribute to a collective departmental research profile.

Senior Lecturer

Cost to company: R425 188 per annum
Basic salary Pension and Provident fund: R326 636 per annum
Basic salary Non-contributory Provident fund: R307 919 per annum
