ACT Professional Development Programme
30 September 2016 is the closing date for this round of the Arts & Culture Trust (ACT) Professional Development Programme (PDP) grant applications. ‘For this round we are accepting applications for all projects starting from the end of October or the beginning of November this year,’ says the ACT Programmes Coordinator, Karabo Legoabe.
Individual artists or arts organisations in any of the arts in South Africa can apply for the ACT PDP grants, which range from R5000 to R60 000 for individual and group submissions with budgets not exceeding a total of R600 000. The applications are on the ACT website and they are easy to fill in. Click here for more details.
The ACT PDP, which is funded by the Nedbank Arts Affinity Programme, has two funding cycles each year; the first closes at the end of March, the second at the end of September. The grants can be awarded to writers, visual artists, performing artists, musicians, designers, new media creatives and arts administrators, either individually or as projects. There are up to 800 applicants in each cycle, from which 10 to 15 are asked to submit more detailed proposals. The successful projects in this cycle will be informed by the end of October.
