'Can Regeneration Save the City' - FADA Gallery Talk

The lecture will explore the contested, and some would argue, disappointing performance of urban regeneration efforts since 1994. In order to shed light on the South African trends, I will explore a few international examples of urban regeneration that are considered to be success stories. The insights from these cases will be used to explore how we can recast and remake urban regeneration efforts in our cities especially in times of increasing polarisation, social exclusion and social paranoia.
