Call for Artists to Apply: Studio Space at New ARC Newtown

Assemblage is pleased to announce that the Newtown Artist Run Centre and Studios (NewARC) has been open for one and a half years and is home to a growing and exciting community.

Until recently the space has been fully occupied but from 1 September 2013 several studios have become available. Artists in need of studios are invited to apply for space at the NewARC.

Available studio details:

  • 1 shared studio - R1500/month approximately 10sqm
  • 1 shared studio - R1800/month approximately 15sqm
  • 1 unshared studio - R2200/month approximately 12sqm

Rent includes water, lights, security, Internet access, basic furniture, a growing library, some art making resources, priority access to Assemblage activities, a vibrant artistic community and a large network of art audiences.

The Assemblage’s NewARC Studios is a space run by artists for artists and offers studio spaces and support facilities for artists. It is a central hub for visual artists working in a variety of media (including painting, sculpture, photography, curating, writing, video and printmaking) and emphasises community, collaboration, sustainability and the sharing of resources, knowledge and skills. Resident artists can benefit from Assemblage’s peer mentoring group sessions, workshops and talks, professional practice training, and exhibition opportunities which are held at the NewARC Studios.
