VANSA Statement on the Venice Biennale

The Visual Arts Network of South Africa (VANSA) notes with some concern the unfolding controversy relating to the representation of South Africa at the Venice Biennale.

DTI Commission on Collecting Royalties

The Minister of Trade and Industries has created a Commission to investigate areas of concern regarding the collection and distribution of royalties by collecting societies. There will be a series of public hearings in all 9 provinces where people are able to make oral submission.

The Henry Moore Institute invites applications for a two-year fellowship, beginning in Autumn 2011. Based at the Henry Moore Institute in Leeds, the focus of the Fellow’s research should be the study of pre-twentieth-century sculpture in the expanded field, paying particular attention to the ways in which history is engaged with in the present.
