VANSA collects, compiles and shares up to the minute opportunities, including employment, funding and other open calls, from the arts sector in South Africa, Africa, and the rest of the world.
The ARTRIGHT project provides the visual arts community of South Africa with a free resource of business, legal and educational tools, documents, information and advice. The objective is for people who work in and around the visual arts industry to do better business, more often.
The Legal Helpdesk functions in partnership with Legalese, who responds to legal queries on a weekly basis.
The legal advice is offered to VANSA members only, and specifically deals with:
- Copyright / Intellectual Property
- Contracts, Sales and Services
- Business and Organisational Structures
The Art Map website gives an overview of a wide cross-section of key organisations and institutions including museums, galleries, alternative art spaces, magazines, events, development organisations and tertiary institutions.
LOBBY & RESEARCH
One of the key motivations behind the establishment of VANSA was for the organisation to act as a voice for the sector, consulting with people working in the visual arts on the big issues that affect them, and lobbying government and the corporate sector on how they might help.
