ANF is a donor collaborative funded by Ford Foundation, Bloomberg, Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, Luminate, Open Society Foundation, Comic Relief, and the Hilton Foundation. We support the development of nuanced stories that shift existing, stereotypical narratives about Africa through research, grant-making, and advocacy. ANF’s goal over time is to leave an empowered narrative change ecosystem and an informed community of storytellers who work more deliberately to change harmful narratives about Africa.
Africa No Filter is supporting organisations with grants of up to $100,000 (USD). Our operational support grants are awarded to Creative, Cultural, and Media organisations on the continent who are championing contemporary and empowering narratives about Africa with a focus on young people aged 18 – 45. To be eligible for an organisational support grant you must:
- Be a creative, cultural, or media organisation operating in Africa
- Be able to demonstrate how your work positively supports contemporary African narratives and empowers young African creatives
- Be able to show evidence of previous successful projects and detailed plans for future projects
