As a year-round participant-driven social movement, AfrikaBurn seeks to activate communities through creative projects and programmes that create new opportunities. We are pleased to announce a new internship position has been created to help forge ahead with these endeavours at HQ.
AfrikaBurn – Arts Development Internship
9-month fixed term, part time internship. 28 hours per week/ R4000 per month.
Based in Salt River, Cape Town.
Purpose
To support the Creative Development and Outreach portfolios to actualize and monitor the impact of creative and community activities and projects.
Responsibilities
- General administrative and clerical support including: preparation of documents, data capture, diary management and minute taking.
- Beneficiary, participant and partner liaison
- Financial record keeping and preparation for reporting
- Data collection, analysis and preparation for reporting
- Event and logistics coordination.
Requirements
- Minimum Matric
- Written and verbal skills in English and Afrikaans
- Computer literacy specifically MS Word, Excel and Power Point – test may be given
- Qualities – detail oriented, multi-tasker, team player, able to work unsupervised and meet
deadlines. - Willingness for occasional travel/weekend/after-hours work.
- Available for AfrikaBurn “Working Title” 23-29 April
- Interest in arts and community development
- Previous NGO experience desirable.
