Opportunity Description

The Goodman Gallery is looking for a very organized, detail-oriented After Sales Manager with strong project management skills to join our team in Johannesburg, South Africa

Employment Type: Full Time

Working Hours: Monday-Friday; 08H30-17H30

Salary: Dependent on Experience

JOB PROFILE

After Sales:

  • Proforma and final invoicing of all general sales made in Johannesburg gallery as well as assisting with invoicing for relevant exhibitions, art fairs, shows etc.
  • Liaising with clients & respective suppliers with regards to availability of art works, quotes for production & framing, managing production work orders and invoicing.
  • Liaising with clients & suppliers regarding freight costs, delivery logistics and payment of invoices & managing delivery schedule for clients.
  • Arranging special requests from clients for handling art works which includes (but not limited to) framing & installation
  • Weekly management of Johannesburg pro-forma & debtors list

‘Traffic Controller’ (Project Management):

  • Weekly management of Johannesburg and Cape Town work flow list to ensure all tasks are completed timeously
  • Ensuring workflow is correctly assigned to the responsible staff member(s) and following up with regards to completion

Shipping Management and co-ordination:

  • Coordinating shipping of artworks to clients both locally & internationally
  • Managing the suppliers & collections of artworks
  • Work together with Logistics Manager to ensure correct works are packed, packed with detailed care & relevant documentation prepared
  • Managing communication between all parties to ensure successful deliveries made
  • Managing delivery team (daily roster, overtime, leave)

Collections:

  • Liaising with clients to ensure that funds are recovered timeously

Accounting:

  • Checking monthly artist statements for accuracy and requesting invoices from artists

General Administration:

  • Petty cash
  • Checking monthly artist statements and requesting invoices from artists
  • Loading new beneficiaries onto the bank
  • Assisting with gallery functions e.g. ordering refreshments, over-seeing set-up process, managing staff etc
  • General office administration: Cortac Security, Digilogix, Locksmiths, stationery etc, monthly Gallery grocery shop
