Turbine Art Fair invites applications for its 11th Edition in 2023 taking place at the Forum Company’s upcoming Hyde Park Venue
Turbine Art Fair (TAF) is an innovative, vibrant and accessible South African art fair which supports fresh voices in Contemporary African art. Established in 2013, TAF has always been an Art Fair whose location has been at the forefront of the experience, we are widely known as a fair that takes art out of ‘traditional’ venues and into communities. It is a place for new voices, and new perspectives by making art accessible through generational relevance and supplementary experiences. TAF offers exhibitors an approachable, inclusive and vibrant space in for audiences to experience art.
TAF’s 11th edition will take place from 27-30 July 2023 at the forum company’s new venue in Hyde Park, Johannesburg, South Africa.
Applications are open to galleries, print studios/ platforms, artist collectives, projects spaces, publications and independent curators.

Please note independent artists may only apply through TAF’s special projects through separate application forms.
Booth Package Costs:
Galleries: R1800 p/sqm ex vat.
Editions: R1600 p/sqm ex vat.
Collectives & Project Spaces, publications & Independant curators: R1500 p/sqm ex vat.
Booth sizes range from 13sqm – 60sqm.
Exhibitor Stand Packages include:
- Booth Walls (Standard MDF of 900mm intervals)
- 1x plug point per booth
- 2x chairs per booth

- Inclusion in fair catalogue
- Blog and article pages
- Social media marketing
Selection Criteria
Selection will be made based on the quality of the applicants’ curatorial strength and exhibition to be presented.
Applicants must apply with fresh new voices or a fresh body of work from their artists. The fair will not accept duplication of artists/ artists’ works by different exhibitors.
Applications may be made to the following sections:
- Galleries – Main Section (30sqm & above booth sizes),
- Trio (15-25sqm booth size ),
- Solo (10-15sqm booth size).
Galleries who would like a smaller booth size may apply to SOLO or TRIO sections. Editions, Collectives, Project Spaces may apply with up to 5 artists depending on the size of booth & nature and size of work. Independent Curators may only apply with a group exhibition of 2-3 artists.
Exhibitors must apply with artists and artworks that will be shown at the fair. Consideration must be given to international best practice in relation to curation and hanging. Should exhibitors deviate from their accepted applications they will not be allowed to exhibit.
Applications that do not comply with the above will not be considered. Applications from independent artists will not be accepted as exhibitors.
T&C’s: All applicants will be required to pay a non-refundable application fee of R1000 ex vat. Application fees must be paid by no later than 19 January 2023. In the event the applicant fails to make such payments on schedule, the fair reserves the right to revoke the exhibitors participation. Please click on the button below to make payment.
