Position: Art Centre Officer

Division: Arts, Culture & Heritage
Salary: R189 432 to R259 848 per annum (plus benefits)

Core Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and control facilities and equipment as well as surrounding areas
  • Maintain and control stock and asset registers
  • Implement and maintain risk management
  • Report writing to the Administrator
  • Implement Arts Culture and Heritage Development Programmes and Projects
  • Coordinate workshops, programmes and lectures at the Art Centre
  • Establish a database
  • Community liaison with arts and culture groups to enhance cultural and heritage awareness
  • Establish cultural liaison groups in the community
  • Implement and maintain all safety regulations and procedures for the safe guarding of the
    facility, community and staff
  • General administration duties as directed by the Administrator
  • Assist in organising Visual Art Exhibitions at the Art Centre (Assist with all craft programmes at
    arts centres)
  • Assist with all special events, festivals, council functions and awareness programmes

Qualifications Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12
  • 3 years’ experience in an Art Museum (Experience in art centres or creative industries)
