Opportunity Description

Apply to create art for a period of two (2) months under the PESP3 2022/2023 Art Creating Programme – Individuals. This programme will employ visual artists to each create art works for the National Museum. Once an artist is selected for the programme, the artwork(s) created will belong to the National Museum after payment of the tranches.

Created works will be submitted to the ArtbankSA Acquisitions Committee to be considered for inclusion in the ArtbankSA Contemporary Visual Art Collection.

How to Apply

A completed application form is required. Submission forms can be found on the Art Bank of South Africa website artbanksa.org

  • Submit a CV (maximum 2 pages), please indicate which province and district you live and work in and exhibitions you have participated in (if any)
  • Must include an artist statement and brief profile
  • Certified ID copy
  • Account details confirmed by a stamped bank letter
  • Be willing to enter into a written Agreement.
  • Applicants must be registered on the Central Supplier Database (must have a MAAA number) and be SARS tax compliant.

The decision of the Council of the National Museum is final.

Non-adherence to the above criteria will result in the application being disqualified.
