Jamaica celebrates one of its most important heroes during independence commemoration in August 2022 and artists are invited to submit their work and concept proposals to be considered for a juried commemoration exhibition.
‘Nanny of The Maroons – Her Sword, A Seed’ is a unique exhibition innitiated to honour the contribution and likeness of this founding leader and elder of an independent Jamaica through visual art that reimagines her likeness.
Artists are invited to submit creative proposals for works that establish the proud presence of this transcendent figure in history, affirming her West African roots and her place in Jamaican and world history.
