Stellenbosch Outdoor Sculpture Trust will be hosting the Stellenbosch Triennale 2025, the finest contemporary art from Africa for the world. A showcase for large-scale contemporary art exhibitions, the Stellenbosch Triennale is a non-commercial, multidisciplinary art platform hosting a range of artists from Africa and the diaspora.
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Curatorial Project Assistant for the On the Cusp exhibition which focuses on emerging practices that push artistic boundaries through conceptual framing and innovation. In this role, you will work closely with the Chief Curator.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Project management, logistics, research, financial management, tracking and managing a budget, condition reports and quality control, production facilitation and communication.
Requirements:
- Two to three years’ experience in exhibition making
- Strong technological and multi-media skills
- Strong administrative skills
- Strong communication and planning skills
- Programme management skills essential
- Interested in emerging contemporary art practices from the African continent
The position is on a contract basis and will run from September 2024 to April 2025
Required to work both virtually and in-office
Own transport is an advantage. Transport will not be subsidised.
