Opportunity Description

DIRECTOR RESEARCH & EXHIBITIONS (five-year fixed-term contract)

*Basic Salary Range: R601 284 – R773 844 per annum, plus benefits

Requirements:

  • MSc/Masters degree in Science, Humanities, Art or equivalent
  • Ph.D. an advantage
  • At least five years’ experience of managing research and exhibition programmes
  • In depth knowledge of research and exhibition theory and practice
  • Writing ability (exhibition text and popular publications)
  • Proven academic research and publication record
  • Knowledge of the heritage sector
  • Five year leadership experience
  • People management skills
  • Project management
  • Budgeting and financial management skills (PFMA)
  • Strategic planning
  • Public speaking
  • Report writing
  • Working experience of MS Office Suite at Intermediate Level
  • Valid driver’s license.

*BASIC SALARY AND BENEFITS

The salaries quoted above do not include benefits. Iziko benefits comprise generous contributions towards a designated retirement fund (compulsory), a designated medical aid (voluntary) and a housing subsidy (voluntary). Other employment conditions such as working hours and leave entitlement are also generous.
