ASSISTANT/S needed to start immediately.
Must be available to work Saturdays / and or Sundays.
We are recruiting part-time assistants to act in a supportive role to the full time staff and assist with exhibitions.
The applicant must be available for Saturdays, and to be able to fill in on a weekday when needed.
The applicant must be highly reliable, and enthusiastic.
Job description:
- Sales Assistant, and front desk receptionist.
- Experience and abilities required:
- Interest in, and passion for Art.
- Prior experience working at an Art Gallery would be highly preferable.
- Customer liaison, sales follow-through, and sales administration.
- Must be confident, friendly and service directed towards gallery visitors.
- Artvark is an established, and diverse art gallery, which will require agility in getting to know the exhibiting artist’s databases, catalogues, administration and post-sales logistics.
- Ability to multi task, attending to multiple duties as required, with a ‘hands on’ attitude.
- Excellent communicator, both in person and online.
- Computer literate, with proficiency in MICROSOFT WORD and EXCEL
- Display a high degree of professionalism, and be neatly presented.
- Creating posts for and maintaining our Social Media accounts.
- Must be self-directed and proactive.
- Be able to work well under pressure.
- Should reside locally or be able to commute easily to Kalk Bay.
- Must have contactable references.
