The Goodman Gallery is looking for a Production/Installation/Storeroom Manager to join our team in JHB.
KPAs / Job Profile:

- Technical Management
– Technical installation for exhibitions (including planning and installation of film projections, plasma installations, sound installations, lighting)
– Management of technical equipment, costing and budgeting for new equipment - Art Handling- ensuring that best practice is adopted in respect of art handling throughout the gallery- assisting the registrar
- Ensuring best practice is adopted in respect of storing artwork- assisting the registrar
- Warehouse/Storeroom(s) management- Ensuring all storerooms/warehouses are kept neat and ordered at all times and that all stored items are catalogued so that everything is easily located, accessible and safely kept- assisting the registrar
- Exhibition/Event production management – production/oversight of exhibition/event requirements including lighting, walls, painting, maintenance etc as/when needed. Also, sourcing and dealing with best/most economical suppliers and materials.
- Developing appropriate standards and procedures for the receiving and packing of artworks including the development of rules (templates) for condition reports. Also, to ensure these policies and procedures are adhered to
- Human resource management- management of installation staff
- Client installations -assisting with installations at clients homes as/when required
Required Experience & Skills
- Basic AV & Technical skills
- Strong project management skills
- In-depth knowledge of handling and storage of artworks
- Experience in artwork installations
