Norval Foundation, in collaboration with Dream Press, is proud to present the second edition of Zine Space.

Zine Space invites artists to apply to participate in a free eight-session risograph printing workshop with Dream Press. The workshops will take place every Saturday (and one other day of the week) during the period of 30 July-20 August. Five artists will be selected by a panel of judges made up of Sindiswa Busuku (Writer and Scholar), Githan Coopoo (Artist), Candice Je┼żek (Publisher, Dream Press) and Clare Patrick (Exhibitions Manager, Norval Foundation).

Over the course of the four weeks, the five selected artists will produce an art zine they will be able to sell at the Cape Town Art Book Fair 2022. The zine may be in any language.

Submission Requirements:

  • Developing/developed a professional artistic practice
  • Available to travel to Dream Press Studios (Woodstock, Cape Town) two days a week throughout the duration of 30 July-20 August
  • Submit three examples of artwork
  • Submit a 120-word proposal for their zine

Collectives may apply however, due to space, only one member of the collective may attend the workshop.

The selected artists will be informed via email in the week beginning Monday, 11 July.
