Opportunity Description

Since many artists have been forced to work exclusively from home, without access to the local creative community, we thought to offer a space for critical dialogue and discursive feedback with our team of curators and practitioners who would give their time, experience and perspectives.

Stevenson, together with the Visual Arts Network of South Africa, is offering a limited number of portfolio reviews. Artists with a comprehensive body of work are invited to submit their portfolios for review by Stevenson staff. Portfolios of new, existing or previous bodies of work are welcome.

Please note that a review does not imply representation by the gallery. Stevenson and VANSA are committed to the development of the contemporary art landscape and have initiated this project to support artists in the sector.

How to Apply

Fill in this Google form and upload your portfolio. Please note that portfolios should be in PDF format and no bigger than 10 MB. A limited number of portfolios will be reviewed, so if you do not hear back from us by 22 July 2020 please note that you will not receive a portfolio review. VANSA hopes to make this an ongoing project with various project partners, so please keep a lookout for opportunities in future. Contact info@vansa.co.za with any questions.

All applicants should be available for a Zoom or Skype consultation with a member of the Stevenson staff, ideally where some of the work can be shown. All selected applicants will be contacted on email within 2 weeks after the deadline.
