Rand Merchant Bank (RMB) in partnership with Assemblage, the Visual Arts Network of South Africa and Turbine Art Fair open the 2019 call for applications for this remarkable skills development programme.
This partnership offers emerging artists a platform to build, strengthen and elevate their art careers. RMB Talent Unlocked is a mentorship and workshop programme that offers artists upskilling in art writing, financial management, funding & proposal writing, audience development and entrepreneurial savvy which culminates in an exhibition at the RMB Turbine Art Fair where artists gain access to markets. The mentorship also includes individual critique and feedback of the participants body of work from established art mentors as well as the peer group. Artists are encouraged to be open to constructive critique and be mindful of the kind of work they will be expected to produce – work that will shine at an art fair and appeal to art buyers. A curator will be assigned to the programme and will guide artists on their journey to RMB TAF2019.
RMB Talent Unlocked is an intensive programme! The right candidate is dedicated, meets deadlines, motivated and ready to learn the business of their art while enriching and strengthening their artistic practice.
The workshops, mentorship and art fair will be held in Gauteng only. Public transport and accommodation costs will be considered within a budget. All production costs of art making at the artists’ expense.
