The purpose of the role is to provide research and administrative services within DALRO.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Matric (NQF4) or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Drama, Literature or Fine Art.
  • At least three years related and relevant working experience.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Knowledge of local and international creators and their works in the area of visual arts or plays and musicals is essential.
  • Knowledge of Copyright, in the areas of visual arts or plays and musicals is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Written and verbal communication in at least one other South African language is an advantage.
  • Industry knowledge, experience and an existing network within the industry would be an advantage.
  • A valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport.
  • Willingness to travel.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Monitor user websites and catalogues and research rightsholder and rightsholder work against DALRO’s mandating criteria.
  • Research rightsholder and rightsholder work on DALRO database and authorised research sites and verify publication data.
  • Assess applications and liaise with users for necessary information and documentation to update records on the DALRO licensing system.
  • Liaise with users and rightsholders on applications received.
  • Manage Licensed contracts.
  • Prepare quotations where required.
  • Capture data on the DALRO licensing system.
  • Manage email traffic and allocated mailboxes.
  • Generate, prepare and present reports as required.
  • Resolve queries in line with DALRO processes.
  • Adhere to DALRO processes and policies.
  • Perform ad-hoc duties as required.

DALRO are affiliated to international organisations, including WIPO and part of the requirement of the Senior Administrator: Theatricals and General Licensing role is the completion of relevant courses which will be specified from time to time.
