11 Alexander Street Studios is an independent artist community who share building space in Ferreirasdorp Johannesburg. Established in 2019 by Dorothee Kreutzveld and Nolan Oswald Denis, 11 Alexander street studio’s  offers studio space at an affordable rate to emerging and established artists with a meaningful desire to foster a creative community. Post Covid, an organic merging of artists from various backgrounds have found one another thanks to their platform and a strong community of practice has been brewing ever since. The black and white building with the special rooftop, currently houses emerging to established artists, each working to uplift Johannesburg’s creative economy.

1 medium artist studio space available at 11 Alexander Street in Ferreirasdorp, bordering Fordsburg and Newtown. Double storey industrial building that hosts a small community of artists. 

The studio has ample wall space and South-facing windows. It is located on the 1st floor with shared amenities. Amenities include toilets, work sink, access to the communal kitchen (fridge and microwave) and rooftop area. Water, electricity and wifi are included in the rent. Occupation is for a minimum of 6 months and could be shared. 24/7 security and off street parking. 

The building is managed by Nolan Oswald Dennis, Dorothee Kreutzfeldt and Motlhoki Nono. Artists, writers, producers, makers in different fields are welcome.
