THE CENTRE FOR THE LESS GOOD IDEA and it’s newly launched. The Academy for the Less Good Idea is excited to announce a collaborative exchange with THE TEATRE LLIURE in Barcelona, Spain.
We will be developing a performative research project with a selected artist from South Africa in collaboration with a Catalonian artist.
The Centre is calling South African artists from across the disciplines (including but not limited to cultural management, creative writing, academia, philosophy, media arts, journalism, visual arts, digital arts and social activism) with a focus on performative production to apply. We are interested in project proposals that include features of cultural, academic and social research and making. We encourage interested artists to explore, take risks and experiment with their ideas and we have no expectation of completed projects by the end of this exchange.
This same call has taken place by THE TEATRE LLIURE to artists based in Spain.
THE CENTRE FOR THE LESS GOOD IDEA and THE TEATRE LLIURE will jointly select 2 artists, 1 in Catalonia and 1 in South Africa to travel to one another’s countries, be hosted by both organisation so that the artists can collaborate on the creation of a new project.

- 15 Nov – 15 Dec 2020 – The Teatre Lliure in Barcelona
- In mid – December 2020 the outcomes of the exchange residency will be opened to the public at The Teatre Lliure in Barcelona.
