Opportunity Description

The working committee of THUPELO invites applications for participation in a regional workshop to be hosted by GUS (Gallery of University of Stellenbosch).

The workshop will be daily from February 4 – February 14, 2018. Participants need to commit to attending every day, including weekends. (9 am to 4.30)

The workshop exhibition will be from 15 to the 19th of February, 2018 in the Gallery. This will run concurrently with the Cape Town Art Fair.

Thupelo workshops are artist-led and were initiated in response to a need for interaction between artists. This workshop will include up to 15 artists from the region. Artists with experience in their various practices who are self-motivated and able to experiment, exchange skills and ideas are welcome to apply.

Thupelo will provide basic materials, lunch, and refreshments plus a transport per diem if needed.

Closing date Monday, 15 January 2018 (noon)
Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
Selection: Wednesday, 17 January 2018
Applicants will be informed by Friday, 19th January 2018

Workshop begins: 4 February 2018 welcome and introductions at noon
Cleanup: Wednesday 14th
Exhibition Open day: Thursday 15th
Tidy and up and closure: Monday 19th

This is a National arts councils (NAC) funded visual arts project.
