Opportunity Description


Turbine Art Fair presents Paper, a series of accessible contemporary work on paper by independent artists from Southern Africa. TAF invites artists who are currently not represented by a Southern African gallery to submit unframed works on paper for consideration. Accepted work will be shown in a dedicated OVR on the RMB TAF website and in pop-up exhibitions in Johannesburg. This programme will run throughout the year in an effort to provide additional and continuous support to artists through the sale of work.

Works can be submitted in either or all of the below categories and price ranges:
Artwork dimensions can be approximated to the dimensions listed below.

  • A5 (148mm x 210mm), price range R600-800.
  • A4 (297mm x2 10mm), R1000-R3000.
  • A3 (297mm x420mm), R3000-R5000

Exhibition dates will be announced soon.

How to Apply

Artwork Submission Requirements:

  • Only works on paper within the above dimensions and price ranges will be accepted, mediums can include printmaking, drawing, watercolor, paint and photography.
  • Artist CV.
  • Brief Artist Bio (250 words).
  • Artist/ Work statement (250 words max).
  • High-resolution image of artwork, max 4MB.
  • Artist Profile picture, max 2MB.


  • All work submitted must be unframed and on paper within the stipulated dimension and price ranges.
  • All submissions are subject to selection by the TAF team and artists will be notified of their selection.
  • TAF will take a 30% commission on work sold and will arrange.
  • Selected artists will be responsible to delivering their work to TAF or TAF regional partners if outside of Gauteng.
  • Artworks must be flat-packed for transport.
  • All submissions must be sent to TAFCurator@theforum.co.za, incomplete submissions will not be considered.
