Salary: R520 320 to R713 808 Per Annum (Plus Benefits) Core

Core Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the strategic and Operational Management of Arts, Culture and Heritage Services and Facilities in the area
  • Responsible for the strategic planning of the mission of the area and creating objectives in order to realize the mission of the City and Area
  • Perform management functions in order to ensure good governance
  • Responsible for the operational planning, development and Marketing of Arts, Culture and Heritage facilities
  • Responsible for researching and implementing methods and procedures for the delivery of effective arts, culture and heritage services
  • Responsible for the administrative function of the Section
  • Responsible for all Human Resources functions for all employees in the Section (appointments, discipline etc)
  • Responsible for compiling the budget for the Section and implementing the Supply Chain
  • Management procedures and ensuring the MFMA is followed
  • Manage lease agreements for Arts, Culture and Heritage facilities
  • Handle and resolve all complaints received from the public regarding Arts, Culture and Heritage services and facilities
  • Facilitate the compilation, co-ordination and monitoring of Visual Arts Programmes and Exhibitions, Heritage conservation and management programmes, Community Art centre an performing arts programmes
  • Responsible for all complicated technical and specialized decisions relating to the above mentioned
  • Responsible for the monitoring and implementation of the National Resources Act in the Area
  • Responsible for the management of all projects in the Area
  • Responsible for event management of all projects
  • Manage the transformation of Arts, Culture and Heritage in the area by monitoring out-reach programmes, cultural and heritage development programmes, indigenous knowledge systems and art as healing programmes

Minimum Requirements:

  • Applicable B degree or equivalent completed NQF level 7 qualification in the field of Arts, Culture and Heritage
  • Theoretical knowledge of the job function is essential
  • 6 years’ or more experience in a similar environment
